Released in 1991, Achtung Baby marked a turning point for the band's sound, moving away from the Americana-influenced, world-conquering Joshua Tree. Swapping romantic rock for electronica-tinged mastery, it spawned singles The Fly, One, Mysterious Ways and is widely regarded as one of the band's best records, setting a precedent that created the iconic trio of 'Achtung, Zooropa, and Pop.
