Blowing the world's collective mind when he emerged in the late '90s with his fresh approach to magic, David Blaine took illusions off the stage, stripped them of their pomp and circumstance, and performed them for ordinary people on the streets.

His early TV specials, "Street Magic" and "Magic Man," announced a new age for the art form and paved the way for all those who followed, from Criss Angel to Derren Brown.
