GREAT SHOW

Dave came out at around 9:00 after 4 other comedians. He was funny as always and I loved his performance. He talked about his buddy, Chris Rock being slapped by Will Smith and how karma came along three months later, with getting attacked on stage himself. He cheered with the audience in honor of the late musician Prince. Smoked like a fin as always. I loved his stage being set up in the middle of the Xcel and the big screen above Chappelle to see him fro everyangle. Keep being the funny and outstanding comedian you are, and come back to the Twin Cities anytime! Also, thanks for the cool Chappelle bag you handed out to the audience after the show!

AVERAGE SHOW

After seeing numerous shows on TV...I feel this show was average for Mr. Chappelle. Although a funny stand up comic, the show on July 3, 2021 was not his best routine. Too much of The Roots prior to him starting his skit. I expected more from him. Sorry sir!

DISAPPOINTING - MAYBE A BAD DAY

We are big fans and truly cherish the genius and humor Dave Chappelle has delivered in the past. This show was not exactly that. Darnel was one of his opening acts and completely ruined the show with his incredibly dull and homophobic delivery. His humor was racist, and just mean and not edgy if that was what he was aiming for. The Roots played a full concert and then Darnel came out again as if there were a stalling tactic or internal problem as to why it was taking Chappelle sooooo freakin long to come out. We drove out with family from California, Texas and Tennessee all to watch Chappelle in Vegas. The show was short and felt just a bit sad as though Dave needed some redemption from the LGBTQ community and the entire show was surrounding this issue or topic. I left feeling sad. It all felt like a cruel joke on the audience. I love Dave Chappelle and will continue to watch him anytime he comes out. I hope he can dropDarnel from opening and get a real comedian a chance without furthering his homophobic reputation. I don’t believe Chappelle is anything but genuine and I celebrate his bringing so many out to celebrate after such a tough year. I hope the next shows are better. The guy and family that got kicked out for being assholes and harassing Chappelle were a major downer but Chappelle tried to understand what he was upset or what he needed to say only to be drowned out by the booing crowds. I too wanted to know what this guy was doing by feeling so privileged to ruin the show instead of just walking out like any decent human being that disagrees. The meaness was the real downer on both ends.

OPENERS WERE BETTER THAN DAVE'S SET

I was not impressed with the length of time it took to get into the show, having to secure phones and watches. However I do understand. BUT I missed the first act because of this. I love to watch Dave Chappelle but I was not impressed with his chain smoking on stage or his amount of time. I saw Fluffy the week before and was more impressed with his show. For the amount I paid this was very disappointing.

NOT QUITE WHAT I WAS HOPING FOR

The lineup to get in took about an hour- largely because of the policy of having to lock up your phones in a magnet lockable bag to get in. Once in , the opening comedian was not that funny, and Dave Chappelle himself was funny enough- after he he came on about an hour and a half after the stated start time of the show. He would not get away with many (most ) of his jokes if he was caucasian (alright, he's not). And, I personally like that he slays quite a few sacred cows- but, in the end, he seems to be aiming to offend as many groups as possible as the whole point of his show. I was glad to have seen him once- but would not pay that much to see him again- especially as most of what I saw was on a big TV screen anyway- may as well stay at home and watch on the TV screen there.

CHAPPELLE ON NEW YEARS EVE COLUMBUS, OHIO

I traveled to Columbus for this show.. I thought it would be extra special because it was NYE. The opening acts were funny. Jon Stewart was funny and on stage longer than Dave. These tix were crazy expensive . I've never seen Dave live. My expectations were wayyy too high for what I experienced. I still love Dave, but I will love him and watch him from afar on TV!
