Blondie was Fantastic and put on a great show with a very good sound mix. Unfortunately the sound mix for Elvis Costello was so bad I had to put my earplugs in immediately. The bass was SOO loud and distorted it rattled through my whole body and wrecked the sound mix for Elvis. I'm giving 4 Stars to Blondie for a great set that was cut short due to a weather delay that cut out some of their hits.

BLONDIE AND ELVIS COSTELLO
Went mostly to see Blondie, they were great!
I love Deborah Harry and the band was really excellent. Happily they played a limb set because Elvis sound was terrible! We were close to the stage and I put Kleenex in my ears after his first song 5. It was my teenager’s first concert. We left before Elvis finished his set. I saw him years ago and won’t go see him anymore.

BLONDIE AND ELVIS COSTELLO
blondie was very good! Vocals and band were well done. Very good sound mix!! Great selection of songs!!
Elvis played great songs but unfortunately the sound mix was way off! Vocals were drowned out because it was too loud!! Couldn't understand any words...What a shame!!!...noticeably , people were holding their fingers in their ears...What does that mean?? His backup singers couldn't be heard with clarity of any of their words....

DISAPPOINTED
Been an EC fan for years. With his different signature voice, I think he's a great singer. What the heck happened last night? Throughout, he was a semi tone flat....consistently. Could have there been a strange abnormal pitch shift in his earbud monitors? An electronic digital Doppler feed to his ears? No way could it be tired singing. After all, he is a professional. As a singer myself, it hurt to hear Elvis off key . We even walked around the venue to se if it was the acoustics in the tent. The band was on fire and the two backup singers were spot on. This remains a mystery.

I WISH I WAS IN THE TOWER THEATRE
Blondie plays too long, closes w a blast of From Russia w Love , needs a more compact set.
Elvis, is it the venue or the mix? Terrible, painful at times. Mud and volume, ugh. Come back to the Tower, little Sheba.

BLONDIE WAS GREAT, ELVIS SOUNDED DISTORTED AND KEYBOARDS OVERWHLEMED EVERYTHING ELSE
My wife is a great fan of Elvis and she was looking forward to hearing him. Our seats in the 102 section well-positioned. The volume was too high and distorted you could not hear the vocals. We left early after we had enough, and apparently we were not alone because many others were walking out, we spoke with one of the security team who confirmed a lot of the others who left early said the same about the sound. Very disappointed.

BLONDE GETS THE STARS, ELVIS IS EMBARRASSING
I never was into the guy who names himself Elvis in 80s. I thought he was a Buddy Holly want a be. Blonde was fun and showed up with a great band, especially guitarist who channelled Eddie Van Halen. Elvis straight up sucks, can’t sing, can’t play, legend in his own mind, name drops, looks like he just hired his band in the parking lot for minimum wage, giant AHole, horrific sound system, how he has the balls to get on stage is beyond me, sooooooo overrated, we walked out.

SAW BLONDIE AND ELVIS CONCORD PAVILION CALIFORNIA
These are great bands, and Elvis and Deborah can still sing, Blondie’s musicians are first rate, and she’s charming as is possible to be... it was a thrill to see Blondie live (I was front row—I could hear off-mic that Elvis Costello still has his phenomenal voice). The trouble IS more or less just as these other reviews state: the sound was absolutely awful — particularly for Costello’s amazing band —so very loud, distorted bass, distorted almost everything that shouldn’t have been. This was an Elvis Costello show: wonderful musicians accompanying him, performing some of the finest rock songs ever written, but being fed through an atrocious sound mix. Or something. This was my one live concert this year, and two legendary acts, but my wife wanted to leave two numbers before the encore, she went out and I hung in the back of the seating area of the venue, trying to figure out what was wrong with the sound. By then my ears needed a rest. We still love you, though, Mr. Costello.

HORRIBLE SOUND BOARD WORK.
My wife is a great fan of Elvis and she was looking forward to hearing him. We had excellent seats. The volume was so high and distorted you could not hear the vocals of Elvis or the backup singers. We listened to maybe 5 songs and had enough and walked out. We were not lonely because many others were walking out.

BLONDIE WAS BETTER THAN EXPECTED, ELVIS WAS WAY TOO LOUD AND MIX SO BAD IT WAS HORRIBLE
Both Elvis and Debbie Harry have aged and a few bumps in the road are expected, but what the hell was the arena thinking with Elvis's setup...did they not do a soundcheck?
At least 15% of the arena left after a few songs because not only did they unnecessarily double the volume for Elvis Costello, but the mix was so bad you could not articulate ANYTHING
Everyone should get their money back

ELVIS! WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!
Sound was way too loud and distorted. He seemed to rush through the set list and you could barely make out any words. Even his most recognized songs sounded awful. “Alison” a true classic was mixed with Smokey Robinson’s Tracks of My Tears. Huh? Why not play the original toned way down. Such a shame. Don’t waste your money. I have seen other groups such as Springsteen play without the sound issue. Why wasn’t that checked? People didn’t even stay for his encore. Guess their eardrums couldn’t take it any longer!

DISAPPOINTING
Agree with other reviews. I love them both, especially Elvis, but beyond their peak. Blondie played for too long. Set would be better with 5 strong songs. The feedback and distortion during Elvis’ performance was awful. I also was not a fan of the new arrangements, the over-powering ‘back up singers’ and the emphasis on fast, hard rocking songs. Missed the beautiful lyrics and soulful vocals I love.

BLONDIE/COSTELLO SHOW
Travelled up from NYC to catch this show, and it was a major disappointment due to the horrible, amateurish sound mix.
We had "great seats" (right behind the sound & light boards), but we were assaulted by a thudding, sludgy, cavernous mix that made it sound like the kick drum was the lead instrument. These are not hip-hop bands , and they shouldn't have been mixed that way, either.
The distressing part is that no one tried to correct the sound at all during the course of the evening, and, yes - many were leaving during the course of the show.
It was my first time at this theatre, and DEFINITELY my last. Drove home feeling like I just threw away a lot of time & a bit of money.
In a just world, everyone deserved a refund.

THE SOUND AT THIS VENUE IS ATROCIOUS
Blondie was great. Good show. Was pleasantly surprised. Sound mix was acceptable.
Elvis played every song I wished he would play. Now if I could have heard him ? it would have made it much more pleasurable. From what I did hear ? The man clearly couldn't hear himself either as he was off pitch for 80% of the show. The bass and drums overpowered everything. His guitar was a joke in the mix. The same thing happened to me when I saw Styx there last year so it is clearly a venue issue. Will not return to the venue, which is too bad as it is a great setting and location to see a show. This venue will begin to suffer atrophy if they keep this up. No one is going to want to pay that kind of money for a less than professional sound mix or show.

MIXED RESULTS
I thought Blondie did well, but went way to long and she had the same issue Elvis did, an awful mix. I was 20 rows back stage right, so I thought maybe it was where I was seated, but it sounds like many people felt the same way. I also thought Elvis was rushing thru the tunes and did way too many tunes I did not know.

ELVIS’S VOICE WAS FLAT OFF KEY AND EVEN WITH THE LOUD SOUND IT WAS THE WORST
I have seen Elvis over 50 times and his vocals at Bethel were atrocious
Perhaps he asked the sound board to cover his problem with ear splitting volume
When he augmented with the back up singers you could see them working hard to auto tune the melodies
Was he sick ?
Is his voice shot?
The band was terrific Steve Nieve is a magician and Pete Thomas one of the last of the living rock drummer giants
If his voice was off he should have cancelled or at least admitted it was not up to par
Debbie Harry at 74 was surprisingly agile and was a good opener with Clem Burke providing outstanding drum support
The venue is nice and the museum was a lot if fun
But I won’t be going there again

ELVIS IS MY #1 AND I ALMOST HAD TO LEAVE
WHOEVER IS MIXING FOR ELVIS NEEDS TO BE FIRED. IT WAS THE SAME ISSUE AT HARD ROCK IN ATLANTIC CITY LAST SUMMER. WE WERE IN 2 ND ROW FOR 2018 AND 9TH ROW AT BB&T AND THE SOUND IS AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL.
ELVIS... PLEASE SIT AT THE BOARD AND LISTEN! NOT FAIR TO YOUR FANS! WE WANT TO HEAR YOU, NOT JUST THE BASS AND NOISE!!
Karen from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
BLONDIE ROCKED , ELVIS NEEDS TO RETIRE
We loved the Blondie set! Fun, high energy , great sound . Young guitarist great addition to the band . Elvis was awful from the first note. Terrible cacophonous sound , off the beat and out of tune . He’s milking his old fame but he has lost his voice.
Jack NJ from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
HORRIBLE SOUND
Blondie's set went on too long and I didn't understand her choice of songs.
Elvis's set was great but the sound was so bad that it became intolerable. I can't believe it was mixed and EQed so bad.
Jerry from Los Angeles
NOT LIKE HE USED TO SOUND
Sad but true. Elvis is through. Couldn’t hit a note. Took a vote. Left early couldn’t stand another song
Tanya Hyde from Santa Barbara, California
WTF COSTELLO ?
After an entertaining set by Blondie ( the band was great, Debbie mostly quire good) . Elvis hit the stage with Pump it Up and was so off key I was questioning my buzz. I think other reviewers are kind to blame the mix. I'm a big fan and first saw the attractions in the 70s. He's a great songwriter and knowing his material made it even harder to listen. We were among the early departures
Unpleasant listening

OHHHHH ELVIS...
The sound mix was off but Elvis sounded out of tune a lot of the time. I went for Elvis but Blondie blew him away. So sad.

ELVIS IS BEING DONE A MAJOR MISSERVICE BY HIS SOUND CREW
Saw him in Gettysburg a week before this tour. All of the same problems as others are posting here. Sound WAY too loud, he was completely unintelligible. Completely disappointed. Sure hope he sees these reviews.

WHAT A RIP OFF
Horrible sound. We left while Blondie went on too long. From what I see we didn’t miss anything by not seeing Elvis Costello. Pechanga should be ashamed of themselves for calling a confederate center a theater. Won’t be back no matter who plays there.
R Freeman from Los Angeles, California
BAD SOUND MIX RUINS THE EC SHOW!
Agree with the other reviewers. We set right next to the mixing board and the heavy bass frequencies and distortion ruined what should have been a Hall of Fame performance. Accidents will happen but this one was the fault of the sound engineer who evidently didn't notice that her truly horrendous sound mix literally drove people out of the arena. The sound for Blondie was fine. But for EC and the Imposters they plugged in a new mixing board and brought in a new sound engineer. She was oblivious to the disastrous affect her butchering of the mix had on the show. We were five feet away from her and were tempted to pass her a note begging her to "turn down the bass!" The low end sub-woofer tones for the bass drum, floor toms and bass guitar were mind numbing. Fine for a hip hop show but not for the subtleties of a master song writer and his four piece band.

TERRIBLE
Went there to see Elvis and was Soooo disappointed. I didn’t recognize any of his songs because he was singing so out of key and flat.
I’ve never heard anyone perform so badly. I couldn’t figure out the melody of any of his songs until the chorus, and then I could put it together. Wow, that was a shame, and was so looking forward to seeing and hearing him. Blondie sounded better than Elvis, and I didn’t go to see her. Bummer!!!!
Ellie from Concord, California
TERRIBLE
Went there to see Elvis. He sang so off-Key and flat, the songs were unrecognizable. I couldn’t figure out what he was singing until the chorus, and then I was able to put it together. WOW!!!
What a shame, I love him and really wanted to hear his beautiful vocals. What the heck happened???
