A CHRISTMAS CAROL

Acting was superb. Great musical a must to see.

LIVE MUSIC WAS A NICE TOUCH

Not an improvement on the original book or any movie version. The set was dark and plain. Attempts at humor got some polite laughter. Not for kids. Valet parking was a bargain at $12.

WORST PLAY I'VE EVER SEEN ON BROADWAY

Horrible adaptation of Dicken's classic. Stage was barren and dark with piles of garbage.... even after Scrooge's redemption! I have seen multiple adaptions, from one man shows to large musical production and I can honestly say that the Flintstone adaption was better. Save your money and watch a better rendition on DVD .

A CHRISTMAS CAROL?

If you hated Dicken's version, then you'll love this misbegotten adaptation. Not even the free cookies and clementines can save this nearly cheerless horror. The sets have less design than a trip to your IKEA store. Most of the story is recited to the audience and in a monotone manner that wouldn't even rate for an audio book. The first half is a disaster completely disconnected in feeling from the second half. How Scrooge is transformed from a defiant miser to a man seeking redemption and change is unclear. The playwright for this mess should be visited by ghosts of playwrights past to instruct him on the many errors of his ways. Ruining a Christmas classic is not a way to further one's career. If you want to feel the spirit of Christmas, run, don't walk, away from this boring, depressing, spiritless horror, and donate what you would have spent on tickets to a more deserving cause!

A CHRISTMAS CAROL IS JUST DREADFUL; THERE IS NO MEMORABLE MUSIC AT ALL; THE ACTING IS DULL

The Smith Center needs to step it up. We all know they lost money last year, but so many people are saying that they will not renew next year.

1.0 star rating Lynn from Las Vegas, Nevada

ABSOLUTELY DREADFUL

The lead actor is a favorite of ours. He picked the wrong production for certain. This was a boring, lackluster show with almost no music and certainly nothing memorable. The Smith had better up their game or lose many patrons next season.
