What Are The Original Hamilton Stars Up To Now?

Now on tour!

When Hamilton opened on Broadway way back in 2015 no one could have expected how stratospherically famous it would become! With the cast thrown into super-stardom, we take a look at what our original principles are up to almost four years on.

Lin-Manuel Miranda - Alexander Hamilton

We think it's safe to say that our Lin is now a household name. From his starring role in "Mary Poppins Returns" to writing the famous score to "Moana" and becoming the king of Twitter, Miranda has been riding the Hamilton wave, and we say good on him! With international fame and a whopping contract with Disney in his back pocket, we can expect to see a lot more of Miranda in the future. Like his character, Lin-Manuel Miranda is not throwing away his shot!

Leslie Odom Jr. - Aaron Burr

Garnering a Tony award for his portrayal of the disgraced former vice-President, Leslie Odom Jr. has been enjoying the life of a sought after actor! Releasing his own number one Jazz studio album in 2016, Odom Jr. starred in the feature film "Murder on the Orient Express". Our Aaron Burr sir is also looking forward to featuring in two more movies in the next couple of years, "Harriet" (alongside Cynthia Ervio) and "Needle in a Timestack" (alongside Orlando Bloom).

Phillippa Soo - Eliza Schuyler

After leaving Hamilton Phillippa Soo lead the cast in the Broadway premiere of Amelie. Remaining a Broadway favorite Soo starred alongside the likes of Uma Thurman in last year's Broadway production of "The Parisian Woman". Our sweet Eliza hasn't strayed too far from War zones however, by replacing the American Revolution with Military based CBS show "The Code"! We can't wait to see what Soo does next, fingers crossed she heads back to Broadway very soon!

Daveed Diggs - Thomas Jefferson/Marquis de Lafayette

Nailing one of the hardest raps in Hamilton, nee, ever, Daveed Diggs has enjoyed a blossoming Hip-Hop career for many years! Since leaving Hamilton Diggs is back on Broadway in the critically acclaimed Public Theater production of "White Noise" as well as starring in the Netflix Orginal series "The Get Down". Diggs has also appeared in recurring roles in "Black-ish" and "The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" and stars in the TNT series adaptation of "Snowpiercer".

Renee Elise Goldsberry - Angelica Schuyler

Already a frequent TV star pre-Hamilton, Goldsberry has been continuing with her excellent television work in shows like "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks" and "Altered Carbon". Goldsberry also has starred in "The House With a Clock in Its Walls" alongside Jack Black and Cate Blanchett. Renee is frequently on the concert trail bringing her goosebump-inducing voice to fans across North America.

Christopher Jackson - George Washington

Jackson is another Hamilton favorite to find a top spot in a CBS drama! Jackson stars in the hit drama "Bull" as fashion stylist turn Law student alongside the likes of Michael Weatherly and Freddy Rodriguez.

Okieriete Onaodowan - Hercules Mulligan/James Madison

Currently starring in TV show "Station 19", Onaodowan found himself in the midst of a casting scandal post-Hamilton (no fault of his own). Okieriete took over from Josh Groban in Broadway musical "Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812", but was replaced suddenly by Mandy Patinkin before his contract ended. This sparked racism rumours amongst the theatre community and put our beloved tailor out of a job. Thank goodness that Onaodowan didn't suffer too greatly and now has a blossoming TV career on the horizon!

With the original Hamilton stars continuing to make waves both on Broadway and on TV we can't wait to see what the future generations of Hamilton stars will do!
