Blue Man Group
at The Venetian

Blue Man Group’s critically acclaimed show has been called “visually stunning,” “wildly inventive,” and “hysterically funny.” Although it is almost impossible to describe, people of all ages agree that Blue Man Group’s Venetian Show is an intensely exciting and wildly outrageous experience that leaves the entire audience in a blissful, euphoric state.

Blue Man Group has opened its most lavish production ever, in The Venetian's brand-new 1760-seat Blue Man theatre built especially for this spectacular show. Join the celebration and see the show that, USA Today calls "an absolutely ecstatic experience” and Time Magazine calls “A Sensation”.

Creators
Three long-time friends Matt Goldman, Phil Stanton and Chris Wink founded Blue Man Group in 1987 with a series of "happenings" which stemmed from salon style meetings. These events developed into the award-winning show that opened at the Astor Place Theatre in 1991.

Following the success of the New York show, Blue Man Group opened equally successful productions in Boston and Chicago. In March 2000, Blue Man Group opened its largest production at that time at the 1,200 seat Luxor Theater in Las Vegas. This production has become a must-see attraction in Las Vegas. In May of 2004, Blue Man Group opened its first international production in Berlin. Toronto will be home to the next production of Blue Man Group opening in June 2005, and London will follow in winter 2005.

Goldman, Stanton and Wink performed the first three years of the New York theatrical run without understudies. They continue to perform, but the company has expanded to include close to 60 Blue Men and over 50 musicians, all of whom rotate into the shows and work on other projects in various combinations.

Blue Man Group's debut album, AUDIO was released on Virgin Records in December 1999. Audio was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Pop Instrumental category and in February 2001, Blue Man Group joined forces with music maverick Moby and soul power diva Jill Scott for a unique performance at the Grammy telecast, which was greeted with a thunderous standing ovation by the audience of music industry elite. In 2002, Audio was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America. In 2003, Blue Man Group released their first full fledged rock 'n' roll album, The Complex, which features collaborations with Dan the Automator, Tracy Bonham, Esthero, Josh Haden, Dave Matthews, and others.

While recording The Complex, the trio simultaneously developed a groundbreaking rock concert experience which became the widely acclaimed and successful Complex Rock Tour. During the summer of 2003, The Complex Rock Tour visited over 70 cities across North America and footage from two of the shows was included, along with music videos and select songs from The Complex in 5.1.Surround Sound, on Blue Man Group's first ever rock concert DVD, The Complex Rock Tour Live. The DVD was recently certified Platinum.

In 2004, Blue Man Group won critical praise for their first television score, providing the dramatic sound for FOX's "The Jury," produced by Barry Levinson and Tom Fontana. Blue Man Group recently collaborated with John Powell on music for Twentieth Century Fox's animated feature Robots (which came out in March 2005), from the creators of Ice Age.

Following the events of September 11th, Blue Man Group reacted creatively with a short film, Exhibit 13, which Caryn James of The New York Times called, "poetic, imagistic and simple; it draws viewers in, inviting us to reflect rather than telling us what to think." The film can be viewed at exhibit13.com. What began as a group of three friends has grown into a 500-person organization that reaches beyond the world of theatrical productions, applying its vision, philosophies and aesthetic to a variety of media. Blue Man Group's major ongoing projects include theatrical productions in New York, Boston, Chicago, Las Vegas and Berlin, Blue Man Group Records and Blue Man Product Design. The initial work broke ground in the genre of theatre and Blue Man Group strives to stay true to this mission in every aspect of their creative work.
